October '16 Challenge - Mid-Month-Reminder

Servus and welcome (back), dear steampunk mixed media lovers and friends!

Team B have prepared another bundle of awesome inspirational projects to lure you in on playing along! And if you haven't checked out the makes of team A yet, I highly recommend you do so after reading this post and get the full dose of mixed media steampunk goodness! (just click on the badge on top of our side bar to get to the according post).

Our two generous sponsors DecoArt media and boozybear steampunk chipboard pieces are again giving away prize packages  to two lucky winners who will be picked among all proper entries - so don't miss the chance!
The challenge is still open until the end of October - so you still have two more weeks to enter a project (or maybe even the allowed three).

The theme is as always "Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial" and if you want to add a little Halloween-ish twist to it that is more than welcome! ;)

And here we go:

As Halloween is a couple of weeks away she just couldn't resist making
a SteamPunkin.

topped with a couple of ghosts

decided to create a home decor project
with lots of dimension and texture

"The Face of Time"

has done her magic and created a large tag for you today

and of course she used lots of DecoArt paints, pastes and potions
on it.

(that's me)

I am revisiting one of my favourite TV series with my son at the mo
and we are not only having fun but it also inspired this project. I am sure some of you will recognise what it is that I have made ;)

Claudia (when getting her own Farnsworth): "Does this mean I'm an agent now?"
Artie: "No, it means I can reach you anytime of day or night."
Claudia: "Okay, not so good."

Lovers of Warehouse 13, where are you???!!!

As you might already have noticed, Niki's make is missing. She has decided to explore new creative paths and is taking a steampunk time out for now and I fully understand and encouraged her to do so - even though I loved having her on our team and will miss her! But I know pretty well that we all reach a point at times when we feel that we need to try and explore new paths - and then we should listen to that inner voice and just follow.  Good luck and have lots of fun and joyful creative moments, Niki! We can't wait to see where your new creative adventures will be taking you!
Hugs and wishes! xxx

September '16 Challenge - Team B Makes

Servus and welcome back to our usual mid-monthly share of the inspirational makes of Team B!

And I am using this opportunity to welcome all our new players who have joined in during the last few months!

This place is constantly growing and attracting more and more fabulously creative people from all around the globe and we are so proud of that - but I also know that part of this is due to our players, my fab Design Team and our prize sponsors, who all make this place the special mixed media spot it is! So thank you for being so true and for sharing your fantastic mixed media art with us so constantly!

Our aim is for you to find a lot of fun and inspiration by playing along and during your visits here and also by visiting the blogs of our players and the DT! We are open for all sorts of crafters and artists, for all levels of skill and all kinds of stamped, painted, collaged, drawn,...well, media-mixed projects as long as they are handmade. These can be cards, tags, altered objects, altered art jewellery, canvasses, art journal pages, assemblage pieces...well, whatever you can think of. All we ask for is that your projects are either industrial or steampunk style mixed media projects. It's that easy and that fun!

Our challenges are open for a whole month and you can either make our Top5 (who are being chosen by the whole DT) or/and win one of our two monthly prizes donated by our generous sponsors DecoArt media and boozybear. All you have to do is stick to the few challenge rules (that can be found on an extra page right under our challenge blog header) and enter up to three projects!

We would also love it if you took a second or two to visit the blogs of the DT (for more information and images and maybe even  a how-to here and there) and leave a short comment of approval! You get to their blogs by clicking on their names. And be assured - you will make them very happy by doing so!

As most of our challenges are, the September challenge is an

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

one too.

You will find the linky tool at the bottom of this post.

And here are the projects
from Team B:

decided to make an industrial style project this time.
She has altered the cover of her new timer and
calls her piece
"Let time stand still!"

(which is me)
I  had a fun play with some of Tim Holtz' Sizzix dies
and created a steampunk necklace pendant using
his ornate frame die and some shrink plastic.
There's a how-to on my blog.

transformed an old encyclopedia into a steampunk
"Tome of Time"

used a mixed media board and lots of DecoArt media
products to create this beauty:

challenged herself by using just a limited number of art supplies
to create this awesome vintage travellers tag.
(stencils, embossing powder, distress ink and "lots of metal tidbits"
as she says).

Enough inspiration to spark your mojo? If you need some more, I recommend you hop over to the Team A post by clicking HERE. You won't be disappointed. I promise! ;)
If you haven't checked out our Top5 and prize winners from the summer special challenge yet, just click HERE

Well...as always we hope you have enjoyed your visit and that we will
see you soon - entering your steampunk/industrial projects to our challenge!

Prize Winners and Top 5 of Our Summer Special 2016!

Hi, servus and welcome back, dear steampunk mixed media friends,

to the announcement of our prize winners and Top5!

The team and I want to thank you all so much for playing along so willingly during the hot summer months and for entering those fantastic loads of awesome mixed media steampunk and industrial art! We were once more blown away by your talent and by you all being such true players. It's you who make our little mixed media steampunk corner the special place that it is - and for that we are so grateful!

The team's picking their favourites among all the fantastic entries led to having quite a number of entries being heads up this time - so I decided to have eight Top5 entries this time instead of trying to narrow them down to our usual five. As this was a summer special I thought the Top 5 could be special too this time. ;)

Also special is that lovely Glenda, the shop owner and designer of the fantastic boozybear steampunk chipboard pieces, is generously giving away two surprise prize packages this time - so we have three prizes for three lucky winners - including the little "steampunk starter kit" from our generous prize sponsor DecoArt media).

And these lucky winners are:

August 2016 Extra Steam Power with Nate

This time our talented DT member Nate has created a project to fuel your creative steampunk mojo!

Bonjour à toutes!
Hi, all!

Transformation d' un grimber en maître du temps monter sur une boite en carton , travaillé avec papiers métal et peintures DécoArt.

An altered box with the "Master of Time", covered with metal foil and painted with DecoArt products and paints.

The embossed and painted panels to cover the box with.

Sides, box feet and clock face were painted with DecoArt Americana acrylic paints.

A look inside:

What a beautiful clock face!

And that iron gate is just the perfect addition!

The Master of Time!

He is wearing a crown and a monocle with a flaming red lense. Quite impressive and intimidating if you ask me...(and the two birdies just add that touch of mistery to it that I love! So cool!)

When the gates of the box open, you can see the hour glass in front of the clock face.

The sides show images of a skully lady and gentleman...

...and the back side shows the pretty couple in all its liveliness.....erm...well... ;)

I hope you enjoyed Nate's project as much as I did! It is so brilliantly made and I love all the texture and metal effects she has created! And there went such a lot of love and labour into this one! Absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing, Nate! Mwah! XXX

And thanks for stopping by, dear steampunk friends! There are still two more weeks time to join in our summer challenge! We hope to see your fantastic projects being shared with us soon!

Hugs and happy crafting,
Nate & Claudia
